After successfully hosting its pay-per-view event Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) found itself in a spot of bother, after its stars were left stranded at the airport for hours before finally getting a flight back to the United States.

Despite Crown Jewel turned out to be a successful event for the viewers, the WWE stars and others were left stranded at the Arab airport.
Mumbai: After successfully hosting its pay-per-view event Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) found itself in a spot of bother, after its stars were left stranded at the airport for hours before finally getting a flight back to the United States.
Despite Crown Jewel turned out to be a successful event for the viewers, the WWE stars and others were left stranded at the Saudi Arabia. A report in wwe.com states, above 175 WWE superstars, its team and other staff had to wait longer, before getting a flight back to USA.
Following this delay, WWE’s Smack Down brand had to set new fixtures for its Friday night show. The report further states, a singles match between Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin, and a Tag team match between ‘The New Day’ and ‘The Revival’ was scheduled to take place, but, due to the delay, the two matches got cancelled.
Mirror.co.uk reported, “With SmackDown set to emanate live from Buffalo, N.Y., several Superstars felt so strongly that they arranged for their own separate charter in order to make it back to the U.S. for the show. Due to unforeseen issues, that charter will not land until after the live broadcast on FOX.”
“More than 175 Superstars, production crew and employees boarded a 747 charter flight back to the United States on Thursday. After the door closed, due to several aircraft problems including mechanical issues, all passengers sat on the tarmac for more than six hours,” WWE stated in its report.
After the superstars were stranded, many of the stars vented out their anger on the social media, including some of them even went on to state that they will not attend next year’s event at the Saudi Arabia.
Luke Harper uploaded an image on his instagram account and stated,”Larry, I’m home. I guess I didn’t want it enough to pay for my own charter, but I’m home now. #NotTop20.”
While Andrade Almas stated, “Bad day on Saudi Arabia, I hope to arrive before my birth.”
