EC bribery case: Delhi court orders framing of charges against rebel AIADMK leader Dhinakaran
A Delhi court on Saturday ordered framing of charges against rebel AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran under IPC sections 120B (Criminal conspiracy) and 201 (destruction of evidence) and section 8 of PC Act in connection with the alleged ‘two leaves’ bribery case. The court has also asked Dhinakaran to appear before the court on 4 December to sign the copy of charges. He is currently on bail.
Alleged middleman Sukesh Chandrasekhar, currently in judicial custody, was also charged under various offences. In 2017, Delhi Police’s crime branch had filed the chargesheet alleging Chandrasekhar had conspired with Dhinakaran and others to bribe the election commission official to get the two leaves symbol for the Sasikala- led AIADMK faction.
Delhi police, in its chargesheet, also named Dhinakaran as an accused in the supplementary chargesheet.
