Temporary Relief Provided by CCMC at Pioneer Mill Road Junction
In response to mounting concerns from residents, the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) took action on Friday to address the issues plaguing the Pioneer Mill Road Junction. Sewage stagnation, coupled with potholes, had been causing significant inconvenience to road users in the area.
Following a report published by TNIE on Wednesday highlighting the problems stemming from a damaged culvert during road laying work, the CCMC stepped in to alleviate the situation. The damaged culvert, which connected the stormwater drain with the channel on Avinashi Road, had exacerbated the road conditions, leading to stagnant sewage and potholes.
In a bid to provide immediate relief, the CCMC undertook the task of draining the stagnant sewage and filling the potholes with construction debris and sand. While this intervention offers a temporary fix, it has brought some respite to road users navigating through the junction.
However, despite the temporary measures, local residents continue to voice their demand for a permanent solution to the recurring issues at the Pioneer Mill Road Junction. The need for sustained infrastructure improvements remains paramount to ensuring the safety and convenience of all road users in the area.
