In a recent incident in Coimbatore, a 41-year-old man named Mohammed Ayas was arrested for allegedly dumping animal meat waste near a temple chariot. Ayas, employed at a meat shop in Gandhi Park area, reportedly carried chicken and mutton scraps in a bag and disposed of them near Raja Street temple.

Police, responding to a complaint, charged Ayas with offenses including promoting enmity between groups and public nuisance. Authorities promptly cleared the waste with sanitation workers following the incident.

Ayas was arrested and subsequently sent to judicial custody by a local court on Thursday. This incident follows an IED blast near the temple premises earlier in 2022.
