The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the exam schedules for Class 10 and Class 12 for the year 2025, shared with the public on November 20, 2024. This eagerly awaited timetable comes as a relief to many, as it provides a clear blueprint for students and educators planning for the crucial exam period ahead.
Both Class 10 and Class 12 exams will kick off on February 15, 2025. For Class 10, this rigorous testing period will stretch until March 18, while Class 12 students will endure a slightly longer examination span, which ends on April 4. This schedule affects more than 30 lakh students, who will be sitting for their exams during the morning hours between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM.
Understanding the stress and importance of these exams, the CBSE has worked meticulously to craft a schedule that gives students ample time between exams for essential preparation. Additionally, the board has taken extra care to align this timetable with entrance exams for those in Class 12, ensuring that there are no clashes that could complicate future academic opportunities.
The board has also highlighted the early release of these timetables, made public a solid 86 days before exams begin. This extensive planning was necessary, especially given the complex task of accommodating over 40,000 possible subject combinations offered across different schools. Such foresight not only helps in reducing exam-related anxiety but also assists schools in better organizing preparatory sessions and logistics.
Meanwhile, practical exams for regular schools are slated to start significantly earlier, beginning on January 1, 2025. This head start aims to provide schools and students enough time to adjust and prepare for the theoretical exams that follow.
In a related note, the Maharashtra State Board has also released its exam schedule. The Class 10 exams in Maharashtra will run from February 21 to March 17, while Class 12 exams are scheduled from February 11 to March 11, 2025. This parallel scheduling means that students and parents need to stay informed and plan accordingly.
