New Flight Routes Open Up Indore’s Travel Scene

Passengers flying in and out of Indore have plenty to be excited about this summer. Starting March 30, 2025, Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport is adding several fresh flights that make getting to cities like Visakhapatnam, Raipur, and Jabalpur a whole lot easier.

The much-awaited direct flights to Raipur and Jabalpur officially took off on March 30. Travelers looking for more options now get double the daily flights to these two important cities—a clear win for both business travelers, who love flexibility, and families planning quick visits or longer stays.

Indore’s summer flight schedule doesn’t just stop there. From March 31, the Raipur service morphs into a connecting link to Visakhapatnam. Here’s how it works: board the morning flight from Indore at 6:35 AM, touch down in Raipur at 8:30 AM for a short 20-minute stop, and then hop on for Visakhapatnam, arriving at 10:20 AM. Heading back, the return journey leaves Visakhapatnam at 11:00 AM, stops again in Raipur, and gets you to Indore by 2:45 PM. With these timings, both early risers and midday travelers can plan with ease.

North Goa and Pune Get Into the Mix

One addition that’s getting a lot of buzz is the upcoming direct flight from Indore to North Goa’s Manohar Parrikar International Airport. This Air India Express route, set to launch on April 15, cuts down the usual hassle of getting to North Goa’s popular resorts and beaches, which can be a real trek from the older airport in South Goa. Now, instead of worrying about long road transfers, passengers can land closer to the action in North Goa—saving time and avoiding headaches, especially during peak holiday seasons.

There’s more on the horizon as well: a new Pune flight, routed via Delhi, is in the works, though the exact launch date and timings are to be announced. For frequent fliers between these cities, this will add another layer of convenience and choice.

The travel community in Indore is already welcoming these changes with open arms. Hemendra Singh Jadoun, President of Travel Agents Association of India MPCG, points out that direct flights to Goa have been a long-standing demand, especially from holiday-goers who prefer North Goa’s vibrant coast. Meanwhile, Amit Navalani, the association’s Secretary, is especially upbeat about the new midday flight slots to Jabalpur and Raipur, calling them genuine “game-changers”—no more awkward red-eye schedules or waiting around for limited connections.

The bigger picture? Indore’s airport is on a roll, bumping up its total daily flights from around 92-98 to even higher numbers, positioning itself as a rising regional air travel hub. With these routes connecting more dots across central and southern India, flying from Indore has never looked so promising—whether you’re making a quick business dash or chasing some sun by the Goan shores.
