Jared Kushner’s company has purchased an ocean block lot for $1.45 million in Long Branch with plans to build a hotel on the property, the Kislak Co. Inc. announced.

Kushner Company has purchased 36 Morris Avenue, a .47-acre lot near Pier Village, which the company also owns, with the goal of building a hotel on the lot. This is the fourth and final sale related to the hotel, Kislak, a Woodbridge-based real estate brokerage firm, said in a press release.

In total, Kushner has purchased 1.86 acres of ocean front and adjacent lots for the hotel project.

The hotel, a seven-story project called the Onada Surf Club, has already been approved by the Long Branch planning board but additional approvals are still pending.
It’s not clear when construction on the hotel is expected to start.
The land sale is the latest expansion into Long Branch by Kushner Co., which is owned by Jared Kushner, former president Donald Trump’s son-in-law and the son of real estate developer Charles Kushner.
Kushner was previously approved for a 590 unit apartment building and 100,000 square feet of retail space at the eastern end of town, in a redevelopment agreement with Long Branch. A hotel in the Pier Village section, called the Wave, was completed last year.
