Delhi Excise Probe, Manish Sisodia, Delhi News Live Updates, August 21, 2022: The CBI on Saturday began questioning people in connection with its probe into alleged irregularities in the rollout of the Delhi Excise Policy 2021–22.
Delhi Excise Policy Case, Delhi News Live Updates, 21 August 2022: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Sunday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central Government, accusing it of ‘fighting with the whole country’ instead of fighting inflation and unemployment. Kejriwal’s comments came amid reports the CBI has issued a lookout notice for his deputy Manish Sisodia.
The BJP in retaliation said that “handcuffs are getting close” to Kejriwal, accusing him of being the “kingpin” of the alleged excise scam. BJP’s spokesperson, Gaurav Bhatia, said, “The AAP is saying it’ll be Modi versus Kejriwal in 2024, but we all know what happened in UP, Uttarakhand, and Goa.”
Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia Sunday said the move comes after “nothing was found” during the raids on Friday. Hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sisodia said that he was ‘roaming freely’ in Delhi, and called the look-out notice a ‘nautanki’ (drama). The CBI, however, said the lookout circular is “likely to be issued soon and is in the process” against Manish Sisodia and others accused in the Delhi excise policy case.
