CBSE Announces Board Exam Schedule for 2025
In an eagerly awaited move, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has unveiled the board exam date sheets for Class 10 and 12 for the academic session of 2024-25. This announcement allows students across the nation to align their preparation strategies well in advance. The exams for Class 10 are scheduled from February 15 to March 18, while Class 12 exams start on the same date but continue until April 4, 2025.
The exams will all occur in a single shift to maintain consistency, with 3-hour papers held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and the 2-hour papers scheduled from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Students can now plan their study schedules accordingly.

Detailed Timetable and Preparations
The CBSE date sheet offers a clear timeline, beginning with the opening exam for Class 10 students in English, which includes both Communicative and Language & Literature, kicking off on February 15. The exams wrap up with Computer Applications, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence on March 18. For Class 12, the widely anticipated English examination also takes place on the starting date, February 15, with a wide array of core subjects and vocational courses following, culminating in the final exam on April 4.
This year’s early release of the schedule, on November 20, 2024, provides students with an extended preparation period. Class 12 practical exams occurred from January 1 to February 14, 2025, overseen by external examiners to ensure standard assessment. Meanwhile, Class 10 practicals were conducted under the supervision of school teachers. The detailed preparation encouraged by the CBSE emphasizes the importance of familiarizing with syllabi and exam patterns through sample papers and past questions.
CBSE has also planned to release admit cards to students by February 7, 2025, well ahead in time for students to manage their logistics and readiness. Furthermore, those who require retests can attend compartment exams scheduled for a later date.
This organized approach supports students in preparing thoroughly across diverse subjects including languages, sciences, social sciences, and vocational disciplines such as Data Science, Health Care, and Automotive.
The board urges adherence to the newly laid schedule and has encouraged students to make the most of the resources available for a well-rounded preparation.
